AskLater Box is local-first. The extension is designed to save reading quotes, notes, questions, doubts, and follow-up ideas in your browser, then help you export them as clean Markdown prompts.

1. What AskLater Box is

AskLater Box is a Chrome extension for readers who want to capture selected webpage text, attach their own thoughts, and export a clean AI-ready Markdown prompt later. The current product is focused on local browser features and does not require an account.

2. Data stored locally

When you use the extension, the following information may be stored locally in your browser extension storage on your device:

Saved quotes or selected webpage text.
Your notes, questions, doubts, counterpoints, and follow-up thoughts.
Per-page card information, such as card type and timestamp.
Your license key and derived local license status if you activate Pro.

3. No upload of saved reading content

AskLater Box does not upload your saved quotes, notes, or page content to our servers.
Saved reading content remains in your browser's local extension storage unless you choose to copy or export it yourself.
No account is required for local features.

4. No AI API calls inside the extension

The extension does not call OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any other AI API. AskLater Box helps you prepare prompts. You decide when and where to paste exported Markdown into your preferred AI tool.

5. Payments and license delivery

Payment is processed by Creem. We do not collect or store your card details.
Your payment email may be used to deliver your signed license key, provide purchase support, verify purchase-related support requests, and help with license recovery.
During early access, license keys may be delivered manually to your payment email.

6. License activation

License activation uses a signed license key that is verified locally by the extension. This local verification does not require uploading your saved quotes, notes, or page content to our servers.

7. Future cloud or AI features

Future cloud sync, AI-powered features, team features, or third-party model usage would require an updated privacy policy before those features are offered or enabled. The current local-first extension does not include those features.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes related to data handling will be reflected here before the relevant features are offered.
